Green Dream Team Launches
Real Estate Information Sessions

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (June 28, 2007)

Three real estate professionals who call themselves "The Green Dream Team" will offer free Green Home Buying 101 sessions the second Tuesday of every month beginning July 10. The classes will take place at Environmental Building Supplies, 819 S.E. Taylor St. in Portland, 6-7 p.m. RSVPs are required and organic snacks will be served.

Rose City Mortgage Specialists Loan Officer Ericka Heidrick will partner with Realtor Megan Greenauer of Bridgetown Realty and Ticor Title Insurance Senior Escrow Officer Kimberly Allen to give tips on available homes in the green market. They will discuss how to shop for green homes, loans and professionals. Participants will also learn about green building materials and methods and tour the Environmental Building Supplies showroom.

Heidrick says The Green Dream Team wants to help people realize their green dream home. "We are professionals from three huge parts of the home buying process teaming up to help people become more green," she says.

Each information session will feature basic tips for people with sustainable values who are considering buying or selling real estate. The classes will also feature a variety of guest speakers on aspects of real estate such as home appraisal and green remodeling.

Sustainability proponent Ericka Heidrick wants to be part of the movement to change our society's enormous waste and throw-away mentality. She is a loan officer with Rose City Mortgage Specialists, which practices sustainability in every aspect of business including total recycling, purchase of green tags and support for local businesses and the environment.

Kimberly Allen spearheaded Ticor Title Insurance Hollywood Branch's recent green remodel. The branch is the first title company to be designated by the City of Portland as a member of the BlueWorks program, which recognizes businesses for their commitment to recycling, reducing waste and buying recycled-content products.

Megan Greenauer has worked in Portland's green building movement for six years. As a broker with Bridgetown Realty, she specializes in helping buyers with sustainable values and sellers who want to market the green features of their homes. Greenauer hopes the information sessions will provide answers for people trying to navigate the green real estate market.

Allen and Greenauer are certified as STARs (Sustainability Training for Accredited Real Estate Professionals), which is a new Earth Advantage program.
