Percy Wise, Loan Officer

As someone who experienced the Bay Area housing crisis firsthand, Percy understands the importance of stability and comfort that owning a home brings individuals and families.

Raised in Boston and New Jersey, Percy made a life-changing move to San Francisco during the height of the LGBT civil rights movement. During this time, he volunteered for civil rights campaigns in the City Hall offices of the late Harvey Milk, managed a well-known dessert café, and earned a bachelor’s degree with concentrations in art and social justice.

After moving to Portland, Percy earned his law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School and then clerked for a Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge. He gained further experience with organizational and non-profit development –  including strategic planning and fundraising – by serving on community non-profit boards and working for Multnomah County Library. At the same time, he raised a family and served as an Oregon foster parent.

The offspring of accountants and educators, Percy knows his way around finances and loves teaching concepts with a comfortable, easy-to-understand approach. He sees his role as a loan officer as a useful and fun way to use his legal and financial skills to help his clients reach a positive life goal. He loves working behind the scenes on the details while you enjoy the benefit of focusing on what matters most – your new home.

Percy lives on the Columbia River in a floating home with his partner, where they kayak, watch boats set sail, and view wildlife in their spare time. He also serves on the steering committee of Shir Tikvah – Portland’s eastside synagogue, provides diversity trainings to Oregon attorneys, practices yoga, and spends time engaging with the arts. He makes it a point to attend jazz and contemporary dance events every year.
